Dinorwig Quarry closed in 1969 and today, the workshops tell the story of the Welsh slate industry and allow you to travel into the past of an industry that has chiselled itself into the very being of the country.
Wander around the largest working water wheel in mainland Britain and get to see inside the quarrymen’s houses. The Workshops are laid out as though the quarrymen and engineers have just put down their tools and left the courtyard after a hard day at work.
